“The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish, and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten.

The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits. When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten.

The purpose of words is to convey ideas. When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten.

Where can I find the man who has forgotten words? He is the one I would like to talk to.”

  1. Thank you for the inspiring story. I would say, Chuang Tzu expresses the longing of all artists. The Forgotten Words just perfectly illustrates art canvases, where the the outward silence bloom with just incredible stories- where colors talk and the stories are unforgettable/high above human words that sink in the concern with themselves.

  2. This is the kind of thoughts/ideas put on words that I love reading.
…and yeah, I want to meet the man who has forgotten words too, someone who knows how to listen and understand.
